Scioto Downs has announced that it has cancelled its Thursday night card of live racing due to extreme heat conditions.
Temperatures are expected to exceed 100 degrees Fahrenheit in central Ohio today. Racing will continue, as scheduled, on Friday and Saturday evenings with first-race post times of 6:30 p.m.
Next week, Scioto will start racing with a matinee card on Wednesday, July 4 with a 1:00 p.m. first-race post time. Entries for Wednesday’s races will be drawn this Saturday, June 30.
After the holiday program, racing on Thursday, Friday and Saturday next week will be at 6:30 p.m.
