The live harness racing cards slated for Sunday, June 25 at Hippodrome 3R in Trois-Rivieries, Que. and Rideau Carleton Raceway in Ottawa, Ont. have been cancelled due to poor air quality from the fires in northern Canada.
Officials with Rideau Carleton Raceway indicated that the forecast anticipates an Air Quality Health Index higher than 7 for Sunday evening, and after consultation with regulators and horsepeople, the decision was made to cancel the card. The racetrack will also be closed for training until further notice.
The two divisions of the third leg of the Quebec-Bred Series for older pacers on Sunday at Hippodrome 3R will be rescheduled. More details on those races will be posted when available.
