James Eagleson Passes

Longtime horseman James Eagleson, a resident of Tupperville, Ont., passed away Monday, June 22 at the Chatham Kent Health Alliance at the age of 67

.

Born in Chatham, Eagleson was the son of the late Duncan and Lottie (Ferguson) Eaglesonl loving husband of Sharon; loving father of Threasa (Mark) McGuire and Linda Turner (Reg Knox); loving step-father of Cherie, Corey (Patricia) and Carey (Roxanne) Courtis; cherished grandpa of Matthew, Kimberly McGuire, Christine, Eric Turner, Colin, Zoe and Brody Courtis; loving brother and brother-in-law of Jean (Jim) French, Bill (Lou Ann) Eagleson, Allan (Mary Ann) Eagleson, Betty (Donald) Waldie and Bill Ross. He is predeceased by a sister Catherine Ross.

Eagleson campaigned 58 winners in his career, including his homebreds Tommy Tucker, Tommy Tiger and Tommy Whitesox, earning nearly $250,000 in purses.

The Eagleson family will receive friends at the Badder Funeral Home & Reception Centre, 679 North Street, Dresden on Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held from the chapel of the funeral home on Thursday, June 25, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with Mrs. Bonnie Harvey officiating. Interment in Dresden Cemetery.
