Cards Added At Monticello

Besides its usual Monday through Thursday, four-day-a-week schedule during the month of July, Monticello Raceway has announced that it will add live racing cards on Saturday, July 4 and the Sundays of July 19 and July 26.

All post times will continue at 1:10pm with just one exception.

On Saturday, July 4, Monticello will stage its 40th annual fireworks extravaganza after the races. First race post time that night will be at 7:30 p.m.

On the Sunday afternoons of July 19 and July 26, the 18th annual Ms. Monticello Raceway Beauty Pageant well presented between the races on Monticello’s stage, which will be set up on the track's apron.

“The fireworks will be presented approximately 15 minutes after the racing program ends on Saturday night July 4th,” said Shawn Wiles, Monticello’s assistant general manager. “And since there is free admission to the entire facility, it’s a great opportunity to come and see the fireworks close-up on the track's apron where the best view is afforded.”

The fireworks extravaganza will again be the product of the world renowned Garden State Fireworks Company and be displayed above the infield of the racetrack as has been done in the past.

The annual beauty pageant is once again sponsored by Larry Roman. The pageant will get underway at 12:30 p.m. on both Sundays.
