For the first time ever, Yonkers Raceway is importing races from the world-class Thoroughbred meeting at Britain’s Royal Ascot.
Simulcasting shall be offered Wednesday through Saturday (June 21 through 24, wagering offered on the last five races each day). Yonkers’ mutuel windows open daily at 10 a.m., with the first Royal Ascot race each day scheduled shortly thereafter (note the early opening is for Royal Ascot simulcast [fourth floor only], usual 12 noon opening for all other days).
Among the Royal Ascot highlights are:
Wednesday — Prince of Wales Stakes (distance one and a quarter miles)
Thursday — Gold Cup (distance two and a half miles)
Friday — Coronation Stakes (distance one mile)
Saturday — Diamond Jubilee Stakes (distance six furlongs)
Any number of standout North American-based horses are scheduled to complete during the prestigious meet.
