Caramore Final Set For Saturday

Saturday night's live racing card at the Meadowlands Racetrack may be absent of star power, but one would be hard pressed to find a more daunting pari-mutuel puzzle than the $24,300 Caramore final, which is the program’s featured seventh race.

The 10 strongest survivors from two previous legs will do battle. Account Rollover is the only repeat winner in the series and will start the dash from Post 1. Vinnie Ginsberg caught the drive last week for trainer Jim Eaton and responded by steering Account Rollover to a career-best 1:50 win, which was one of three victories on that night for the young driver.

Robert Silberberg owns Account Rollover, a four-year-old gelded son of Rocknroll Hanover who has come to hand for his connections on the mile expanse.

Chief among the solid group of contenders is another altered son of Rocknroll Hanover, Long Live Rock. A reliable sort who equalled his life's best of 1:50 in Leg 1 of the Caramore, Long Live Rock is handled by Jeff Dauplaise, who is also his trainer and owner, a rare triple threat.

On the wagering side, the Hi-5 Jackpot juggernaut continues to build with just shy of $160,000 in the fifth-race pool and more than $136K in the last into Friday's live offering which features the third and last preliminary leg of the $1 million Graduate Series.

First-race post time for the card is 7:15 p.m.
