Grand River Raceway is pleased to be hosting the CKG Billings Harness Driving Series on Friday, June 24
.
The Billings Series, which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, was founded by the late Delvin G. Miller, and several prominent members of the harness horse racing community of that era. The Series was created to provide an opportunity for harness horse owners who are amateur drivers to compete and enjoy first-hand the thrills of driving and racing Standardbreds.
Grand River Raceway is hoping to host two divisions of the series on June 24 — one trot, and one pace. The Race Office seeks the following: $6000 claimers or lower, or conditioned horses such as non-winners of $1000 in their last three starts that are competitive with the aforementioned claimers.
Grand River draws Monday, June 20 for the Friday, June 24 card. The box closes at 11:00 am. The Race Office numbers are (519) 846-1106/1107.
The five percent drivers’ commissions for the Billings races are donated to the Harness Racing Museum and Hall of Fame in Goshen , New York .
