Fan Appreciation Night at Fraser Downs will be taking on an Academy Awards theme this Saturday night
, red carpet and all.
Not to be mistaken for Steve Martin or Alec Baldwin, Fraser Downs’ regular host for on-site promotions, Erik Hilmer, will be greeting fans and guests at the main entrance as they arrive for the conclusion of the 2009-2010 standardbred season.
The 13-race card will begin at 7:30 p.m., but fans are encouraged to arrive early to take part in the festivities. The festivities will include an outside barbecue where customers are invited to have their pictures taken while sitting on a sulky with a costumed horse or alongside a real, live standardbred.
Fraser Downs racing drivers dressed in their colours will be available for autographs and photos, and the lovely Molson hostesses will be on site with entry ballots for product prizes. Everyone in attendance will get a chance to win on the popular Spin N’ Win wheel or Clinko Board with the classic ‘Price is Right’ game.
Fraser Downs management would like to thank its fans and corporate sponsors for their support this past season. The 2010-2011 live harness racing season is scheduled to resume on October 1, 2010.
Regular racing goes tonight (Friday, June 18) at 7:30 prior to Saturday’s finale.
