Changes To OHHA Group RRSP Program

The Ontario Harness Horse Association (OHHA) has made two changes for the OHHA Group RRSP program

, effective June 1, 2009

Firstly, Standardbred Canada membership will no longer be a requirement for membership in the OHHA Group RRSP program. The change was made as it was felt that Standardbred Canada membership was an unnecessary expense to a portion of potential members who did not otherwise require Standardbred Canada membership.

Secondly, mandatory OHHA membership will no longer be a requirement for admission or participation in the plan.

Following an extensive consultation with many industry participants and thorough consideration, the OHHA Board of Directors agreed these changes would be consistent with the primary objective of the Group RRSP program, namely, to provide retirement income for full time Ontario Standardbred horse people.

Requirements for the Standardbred Revenue Allocation funded match-up to RRSP member accounts have not been changed, and may be found on the OHHA website.
