Wesley Railton Passes

Prominent owner/breeder Wesley Railton of Regina, Saskatchewan passed away Wednesday, May 27 at the age of 96

.

Formerly of Sintaluta, Railton found much pleasure in his standardbred horses and the hobby of harness racing. He attended race meets across Canada from Cloverdale, BC to Windsor, Ont. and various U.S. locales.

In 1964, Railton was honoured as owner of the three top horses of the year, Horse of the Year Star Chief C; 1st Runner Up JJ Mohawk and 2nd Runner Up Dotty Mohawk.

In 1993, he was presented the Presidential Award by the Saskatchewan Standardbred Racing Association for 33 years contribution to harness racing.

At Railton's request, no service will be held. A family interment will be held at the Sintaluta cemetery.

A celebration of Railton's life will be held in the Sintaluta Town Hall basement on Tuesday, June 2 at 2:30 p.m.
