Officials from Truro Raceway would like to remind fans and horsemen a special Friday evening card will be contested May 13 with a 7:00 p.m. post time replacing the regular Sunday card for this week only.
In addition to the regular race fans, Truro Raceway will be hosting approximately 250 Rotary delegates from Atlantic Canada and Pierre de Miquelon attending the annual Rotary #7820 District Conference and Assembly being held in Truro, NS.
The visiting delegates will be enjoying a BBQ and hometown country music at the NSPE Agridome before participating in a fun night at the races. The Raceway has organized a wagering seminar as well as an information session on the sport of harness racing and its horses to be spearheaded by Brent MacGrath, co-owner and trainer of world champion Somebeachsomewhere, and Robyn Crowe, horsewoman and Executive Director of the Nova Scotia Harness Racing Industry Association.
One of the dashes on the program will be ear marked as the Rotary for Polio Cure pace.
Draw for the Friday evening card will take held Tuesday, May 10. The race office opens at 8 a.m. and the entry box will close at 10 a.m.
