Red Shores Racetrack & Casino has officially launched another new promotion for the 2013 harness racing season called Community Nights.
The concept is to have Island communities book the historic Judges’ Tower in the center of the legendary CDP oval for a night of racing, food and fun. The private booking makes the community eligible for a chance to win $1,500 at the end of the promotion in September during the grand prize event.
“We book a number of private corporate parties in the Judges’ Tower from May until October so this is a great way for members of the community to get involved at an affordable price,” said Adam Walsh, Senior Supervisor of Racing. “The community of Stratford has already booked their night.”
Once a community books their official community night party at Red Shores they create an RSVP list to control their numbers. A member of the community is selected to attend the grand prize event in September for a chance to win their community $1,500.
“The grand prize event is unique,” explains Lee Drake, Manager of Marketing & Sales. “An official draw will be made that will team-up each community representative with a horse in a selected race if their horse wins the race their community wins the $1,500.
Some communities have talked about using the winnings to donate to their local fire department, rink or sports programs.
