Doug McNair, Standardbred Canada’s 2018 National Driving Champion and Canada’s representative in the 2019 World Driving Championship in Sweden, will be presented with his Canadian colours and driving helmet at Woodbine Mohawk Park on Saturday, May 18.

Standardbred Canada Chair Mark Horner and SC President & CEO Dan Gall will make the trackside colours presentation following one of the early races during the evening’s card. Additionally, May 18 will also be the Campbellville oval’s annual Fireworks & Family Fun Night.

McNair, Canada’s Driver of the Year in 2017, a winner of 3,216 races and in excess of $51 million in purse earnings during his career, will be joined in Sweden by defending World Driving Champion James MacDonald.

MacDonald, a winner of 1,990 races and over $28.5 million in purse earnings, won the 2017 WDC hosted in Canada and will be representing the International Trotting Association and wearing colours designed in a contest that was held in Sweden.

Prior to the start of the races, both McNair and MacDonald will be on hand to meet and greet racing fans from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m. at Standardbred Canada’s booth. There will be a 'good luck' banner available to sign and fans can have their photos taken with the drivers.

Racing will start at 6:45 p.m. on Fireworks night.

The design for McNair’s driving colours appear below, as selected by SC members and racing fans who voted in the online poll.
