The finalists for this year’s ‘Name That Foal’ contest, presented by the Alberta Standardbred Horse Association (ASHA) and Meridian Farms, have been decided.
The contest, which is seeking a name for Hare Canada's foal, a filly by Mystician, will reveal the winners Sunday, May 14 at Century Downs Racetrack and Casino.
Prizes will be awarded for Best Name, Best Letter (explaining why the participant picked the name for the foal), and Best Art (a picture drawn by the participant) in two age groups for eight-year-olds & under and nine to 16-year-olds.
The finalists are as follows:

Best Name: Rapidash by Brady M
Best Letter/Story: Constance by Leah W
Best Artwork: Mystic Mermaid by Madison M
Age: 8 years old & under
Best Name: Ashante by Carlee C
Best Letter/Story: Beautiful Warrior by Carlee C
Best Artwork: Money Maker by Carly M
