HHYF Ready For Summer Fun

Published: May 31, 2019 05:01 pm EDT

It’s June which means time for fun with HHYF’s stable of Trottingbreds! The new truck is “decaled up,” the trailer is packed, the horses are gathered from their spring training, and the assistants are ready!

“From the volunteers who condition the horses to the host location preparation and generous sponsors, HHYF is very lucky to have great support,” expressed HHYF President Adam Bowden. “This year, we owe a big thank you to Bob Lasky and Rebecca Odud who stepped up late in the planning stages to drive the rig. Of course, we would be lost without our exceptional summer assistant Katie Eick who has been hanging out every summer with HHYF since she was 12. The program has many moving parts and it is always a relief to get on the road with our educational programs.”

Truck sponsors included All American Harnessbreds, Brittany Farms, IN Standardbred Association, Kentuckiana Farms, Lindy Farms, PM Advertising, PA Harness Horsemen’s Association, Jim & Georgia Simpson, and Southern Oaks Training Center.

Stable conditioners were Dylan Davis Stable, Emily Hay Stable, Kris Hinchcliff Stable, Jason Skinner Stable, Andrew Stafford Stable, and Wyatt Starkey.

Locations for 2019 are Bucyrus, OH; Van Wert, OH; Greenville, OH; Marysville, OH; Harrington Raceway, DE; Shenandoah Downs, VA; Gaitway Farm, NJ; Goshen Historic Track, NY; New Meadowlands, NJ; The Downs at Mohegan Sun Pocono.

The Harness Horse Youth Foundation is a charitable 501(c)3 organization dedicated to providing young people and their families educational opportunities with harness horses in order to foster the next generation of participants and fans.
