The Badlands Hanover Syndicate and Winbak Farm of Canada has announced the 2011 book of Badlands Hanover is full and closed
. The son of Western Hanover stands in Ontario for $6,000.
Badlands Hanover retired to stud as the fastest two-year-old pacer ever and a world champion. At two, he won the elimination and final of the Breeders Crown, Niatross, Bluegrass Stakes, Keystone Classic, leg of the Pennsylvania Sires Stakes. At four, he won the elimination and final of the Maryland Governor’s Cup.
Badlands Hanover has now sired winners of $37 million, including three millionaires, 2008 U.S. three-year-old pacing filly of the year Tug River Princess, world champion Badlands Nitro and Hoosier Cup Champion Mr Wiggles. Badlands also sired the 2010 Adios and Oliver Wendell Holmes winner, Delmarvalous.
“For the third straight year, Badlands Hanover has bred a full book of top quality mares. This year was no exception with the likes of French Panicure (p,4,1:49.4s, $997,902), Cami Whitestockings (p,4,1:50.3M, $537,388), and The Patriot (p,2,1:53.4s, $395,185), just to name a few,” said Larry Drysdale, general manager of Winbak Farm of Canada.
Badlands Hanover has 332 offspring who have been in 2:00 or faster (47.63%) and 164 of his offspring have marks of 1:55 or better. He is also the sire of 107 $100,000 winners.
“Badlands Hanover’s first Ontario yearlings will hit the sales ring this fall and the breeders are raving about them,” said Drysdale.
Before standing in Ontario, Badlands Hanover stood in Delaware and sired 39 out of a possible 52 Delaware Stakes Breeders Final Champions since 2004.
Any outstanding breeding contracts will be honoured until Saturday, June 4 2011.
