Just because Yonkers Raceway is dark doesn’t mean Yonkers Raceway is quiet.
Ahead of the return of live racing Friday night, June 7, the Raceway is offering these items of interest.
The first draw — Monday, June 3 — is actually a double draw (Friday/Saturday, June 7/8), the entry box closing at 9 a.m.
There are also morning draws for the cards of Monday, June 10 (box closes Tuesday, June 4) and Tuesday, June 11 (box closes Thursday, June 6), before the regular late afternoon draw schedule returns Friday, June 7 (card of Thursday, June 13).
When racing resumes, there’s also a Pick 5 guarantee going into effect. As part of the U.S. Trotting Association’s Strategic Wagering Program and with the approval of the New York State Gaming Commission, a $10,000 guarantee is available every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evening, the first night being Monday, June 10th.
Should the sequence go unhit, the current ‘instant guarantee’ remains leading to the next racing program.
The Pick 5 is a 50-cent base wager comprising either races 6 through 10 (10-race card) or 7 through 11 (more than 10-race card). It has no consolation payoff, hence the shot at an ‘instant guarantee”.
More information shall be sent after the June 10th card is drawn.
