Georgian Downs has completed the draw for its stakes-packed Saturday, May 28 card of live racing, which will feature the $500,000 Upper Canada Cup, divisions of the Earl Rowe Memorial Cup and preliminary legs of the Friendship Pacing Series
.
The draw for the Upper Canada Cup, for three-year-old Ontario-sired pacers, had been conducted last weekend after the eliminations were in the books. Morning line odds and final driver changes have been made for the dash, which has been carded as Race 9 (10:15 p.m.).
Fresh off his 1:51.1 nose victory in his elim, the Dave Menary-trained Camluck colt Prodigal Seelster (PP6, Ra. Waples, 9-5) has been installed as the morning line choice. The Murray Brethour-trained and Rick Zeron-driven Drain Daddy has been pegged as the 2-1 second choice from Post 9. The Mach Three colt powered to a one and a quarter-length victory in 1:50.4 during his elim.
The $50,000 Upper Canada Cup consolation will take place before the final. It will go to post as Race 8 (9:55 p.m.)
The Honourable Earl Rowe Memorial Cup's $59,750 silver division has been carded as Race 5 (8:55 p.m.) and will feature a field of nine. Kashs Caviar (PP5, L. Ouellette, 7-5), Yursa Hanover (PP2, M. Baillargeon, 3-1) and Il Villaggio (PP4, J. Jamieson, 7-2) head the field in the morning line department.
The Jeff Gillis-trained and Jody Jamieson-driven Hes A Demon has been installed as the 2-1 morning line choice from Post 9 for The Honourable Earl Rowe Memorial Cup's $109,750 gold division (Race 7, 9:35 p.m.). Slave Dream (PP7, Do. Brown, 3-1) and Enough Talk (PP8, Ma. MacDonald, 4-1) round out the top three in the morning line odds.
The preliminary legs of the Friendship Pacing Series have been carded as Race 4 (8:25 p.m.) and Race 10 (10:35 p.m.)
