Due to the uncertainty surrounding the re-opening of New York State, and with continuing concerns regarding COVID-19 and large gatherings, the Board of Trustees of the Harness Racing Museum & Hall of Fame has made the unprecedented decision to cancel the 2020 Harness Racing Hall of Fame induction dinner and ceremonies in Goshen, N.Y.
Harness Racing Hall of Fame honourees, including Hall of Famers Tom Charters, Jeff Gural, Bill Popfinger and Tim Tetrick, and Communicators Phil Pikelny and Ken Weingartner, scheduled for induction on July 5, 2020, will instead be officially inducted at the July 2021 event.
Also being honoured at the 2021 event will be the newest members of the Living Horse Hall of Fame: Always B Miki, Bee A Magician and Sweet Lou, and broodmares Danae and Precious Beauty. Roy Davis and Arlene Siegel will be inducted into the Hall of the Immortals and Steve Oldford, the 2020 Museum Amateur Driving Champion, will be recognized for the seventh time.
The 2020 Museum Board of Trustees annual meeting will be held by video or telephone conferencing on or about July 5.
