Woodbine Mohawk Park would like to remind all owners, trainers and horsepeople of the May 15 stakes payment deadline, which includes sustaining payments for major stakes and nominations for Woodbine’s two-year-old summer series.

All of Woodbine’s major Standardbred stakes for 2021 require a May 15 sustaining payment. Woodbine Entertainment recently announced new dates for several major stakes, including the $1-million Pepsi North America Cup now scheduled for September 11.

Woodbine Mohawk Park will again host its annual two-year-old summer series this season. The Dream Maker, Whenuwishuponastar, Millard Farms and Pure Ivory offer great racing opportunities for two-year-olds, with two preliminary legs and a $50,000 added final for each event. These events have been launching pads to stardom for many champions over the years.

The nomination fee for each two-year-old series is $500.

The deadline to nominate yearlings (foals of 2020) to the 2022 Champlain and 2023 Simcoe is also May 15. Nominations also close May 15 for the 2023 SBOA, open to Ontario sired fillies foaled in 2020.
