Running Aces Harness Park has announced a series of four late-closing events that will take place during the first month of the 2013 season, which commences June 1.

Three of the series are for green horses that are non-winners of one pari-mutuel race or $2,500 lifetime as of the nomination date, which is June 2. They are divided into divisions for pacing fillies and mares, pacing colts and geldings, and one for all trotters. Two preliminary legs in each of the series will race for $3,500 guaranteed purses and each features an estimated $7,500 championship final.

The fourth event is called the 'Survivor Series,' an elimination tournament for non-winners of $1,500 in last five starts, while horses that started for a base claiming price of $4,000 or less in their last start are also eligible. First week races will be contested for $4,000 purses. Second week eliminations (if necessary) will race for $6,000 and the estimated championship purse is $8,000.

Nomination forms can be downloaded at runningacesharness.com, under the 'Racing/Racing Resources' tab at the top of the home page.

The Running Aces barn area opens this Friday (May 17) with horses welcome to commence jogging and training over the acclaimed five-eighths mile oval on May 18. A pre-meet qualifying session will be held on Saturday, May 25 at 11:00 a.m. Entries for the qualifiers should be called to the race office (651-925-4532) by 10:00 a.m. Friday morning.
