The popular Jackpot Next Door Claiming Series continues Tuesday night at Yonkers Raceway with 36 colts and geldings entered in four divisions and 18 fillies and mares in two divisions.
Last week, horsemen brought more than $1.5 million to the Yonkers race office as 75 claims were entered in the $20,000 claiming series. In total, 19 colts and geldings and seven fillies and mares changed hands.
In the second leg of the Jackpot Next Door Claiming Series, the base claiming price is $30,000.
The third leg of the series continues Tuesday, May 20 with the top finishers returning for a $50,000 (added) final on Tuesday, May 27 for colts and gelding. There will also be a guaranteed $30,000 consolation.
Last year, PH Supercam captured the Jackpot Next Door final. He truly turned out to be a jackpot, as he went on to win the $567,000 George Morton Levy final at Yonkers last month.
