It has been announced that the application and rules for the 2019/20 SOA of NY/Yonkers Raceway Scholarship are now available.
The Scholarship applicant or his/her immediate family member must be a 2019 SOA of NY member in good standing; or the applicant can be an immediate family member of a backstretch employee (caretaker) covered by the SOA Welfare Plan. ‘Immediate family’ refers to spouse or child.
Either the applicant or their parents must have participated at Yonkers Raceway in the last 12 months as an owner, trainer, driver or caretaker.
The scholarship awards a $5,000 first prize, $3,000 second prize and $2,000 third prize.
The application deadline is on May 31, 2019.
