Interested in a trip to Solvalla, Sweden to see the Elitlopp and a full weekend of harness racing? The Standardbred Retirement Foundation will be making it happen for someone very soon.
Officials with the SRF have announced that details of its annual raffle to the celebrated Elitlopp – one of harness racing's largest events is in world for those who love the sport of racing.
A fabulous trip to enjoy a full weekend of Swedish racing is now a fundraiser for the SRF through its annual raffle.
The memorable trip will begin with an airfare voucher valued to $1,000 and includes a five-day, four-night stay for two at a four-star hotel in the heart of Stockholm, and includes a welcoming dinner and get together Thursday night, sightseeing on Friday and Saturday morning, entrance to the Solvalla Racetrack on Saturday and Sunday and an English speaking tour guide during your entire stay.
Raffle tickets are $25 each and funds raised will be used to provide hay and grain, medical and farrier care, rehabilitation, vaccinations, and other related needs for more than 200 trotters and pacers currently in SRF's care. More than half of these horses are unadoptable due to age or injury and are under the full care and expense of SRF for the rest of their lives.
Tickets should have arrived by mail to all SRF's supporters and are also available for purchase. The winning ticket will be drawn Tuesday, April 28 at noon; the winner does not need to be present. Help with selling tickets is also much appreciated. Please use the contact information noted.
