Earl Beal, Jr., president of the Pennsylvania Harness Horsemen's Association, today announced that the popular show PA HarnessWeek will begin its 2009 season on Saturday, April 11.

The show, which features the best of Pennsylvania harness horse racing plus features, interviews and behind-the-scenes footage, was critically acclaimed in its debut 2008 season.

New episodes of the weekly half-hour show will air every Saturday at 1:00 p.m. on Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia from April 11 through September 5. PA HarnessWeek reaches an audience of over three million viewers in Pennsylvania and parts of surrounding states.

The show is produced by Emmy-award winner Bruce Casella and hosted by longtime racing pros Steve Ross and Heather Moffett. It is produced in conjunction with Pocono Downs and taped live at Chester Racetrack. Every episode features a recap of the previous week's most exciting races in Pennsylvania and around the world, a look ahead at the coming week's cards, plus segments like 'Blast from the Past,' featuring rare footage from historic races and more – all presented in a fun and humorous style by the hosts that make it accessible for racing novices.

“You don't have to be a harness horse racing fan to enjoy this show,” said Beal. “That's probably why it received such an overwhelmingly positive response. Fans, new and old alike, let us know how much they wanted the show to continue so naturally we're bringing it back.”

He added, “We're delighted to have the whole team back this year. Heather and Steve and arguably the most entertaining team in all of horse racing, and Bruce Casella is one of the most talented guys behind the scenes.”
