John Pineau Passes

Longtime harness racing industry participant John Pineau of South Rustico, PEI passed away suddenly on  April 2, 2022 at the age of 88.

John lived a very full life. At the heart of this was his family, faith, lifelong friends, St. Augustine’s Church Choir, Cymbria Lions Club, and Knights of Columbus. Another great passion was his Rustico Stable and the harness racing community, including special friend Myron Ford.

He was surrounded with much love, prayers, and hymns as his Lord and Saviour lifted him up to join his wife and best friend, Inez (Doucette).

Treasured father of Marlene (Gary), Ian (Diana), Julie (Linus), Dianne (Charlie) and Glenda; extra special Pépé to Curtis (Lacey), Brodie (Joann) and Nathan (Natasha); Christopher (Matt), Johnathan (Katie) and Leanne (Evan); Aubrey, Kristen (Marshall) and Morgan (Shayna); Benjamin (Samantha) and Samuel. John was also a proud Grand Pépé to Denver, Trace, Theoren and Ariel; Sawyer and Emmett; Nate and Sebb; Brooklyn, Katana, Silas and Nixon; Trace and Miley; and Everlie.

John is also survived by his sister, Bernadette (Mario); and sister-in-law, Fran Doucette (Ron, deceased).

Besides his wife, Inez, he is predeceased by his parents, Felix and Julie Anne; siblings, George (Val/Mary), Rita (Albert), Alice (Raymond), Simonne, Adrien (Flo), Eric (Rose), Gerard (Georgie), Alyre (Marion, deceased); and Alphonse (Pat).

His many nieces and nephews were also a very special and important part of his life. Lovingly remembered by his special caregiver and friend, Thelma Eisnor, as well as Stephen and Trish Bell.

Resting at Central Queen’s Funeral Home, New Glasgow, for visitation on Thursday, April 7, 2022, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Lions Club Service will be held at 5:30 p.m. prior to the visitation. The funeral will be held at St. Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church, Rustico, on Friday, April 8, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. Masks are required. Interment in the church cemetery at a later date.

If so desired, memorial donations made to the Central Queen’s Funeral Home Building Fund, or the St. Augustine’s Church Choir would be appreciated.
