Red Shores Racetrack & Casino is getting ready to launch the 2011 season at the legendary Charlottetown Driving Park on Saturday, April 16
. The card will kick off with a first-race post time of 6:00 p.m.
Red Shores Summerside will kick off its 2011 season of live racing on May 25.
Red Shores will introduce new promotions and fundraisers to officially open a season that promises to be filled with major events on and off the track, including the National Driving Championship on May 7.
Customers can support the Canadian Cancer Society Relay For Life when the doors open on April 16 at both Island racing and gaming locations. Pennies for Cancer is a promotion that encourages Islanders to drop off their pennies into a big bin to raise money for the cause.
“There are reports of the penny being eliminated soon so this is an easy way for you to get rid of your pennies and support a great event,” said marketing manager Lee Drake. “We were approached by horseman Alan MacDonald about the concept and it fits with our fundraising efforts this season. It starts on opening day and we plan to wrap it up just prior to the big 10th anniversary Relay for Life fundraiser in the centrefield June 24. When it comes to raising money every penny counts.”
The Red Shores team will officially re-launch wagering promotions as the Pick 6, Super Pack and Play 4 with an exciting line-up of prizes. The popular Wild Horses ticket and jackpot is back for the live racing programs at Summerside and Charlottetown. The TrackPack, which debuted last year, is back by popular demand. The $5 ticket gets you a race program, $2 wager, $2 Lotto 649 or Pro-Line ticket and 10 percent off at Red Shore’s food and beverage outlets. Plans are already underway on the design and testing of a new harness racing bingo card.
All the action will be carried between Red Shores Summerside and Charlottetown this season along with the HPI platform.
