In a statement issued on Thursday (April 30), officials with Kawartha Downs confirmed that the track is prepared to conduct live harness racing in 2020 when the green light to do so is given.
The statement from the track appears below.
Hope all is well due to the unforeseen circumstances. Kawartha Downs would like to advise all horsepeople that we are prepared for the return of harness racing. The personnel at Kawartha Downs will be following provincial guidelines regarding the COVID-19 regulations and working with AGCO and Ontario Racing for when racing will resume. Racing without our loyal race fans hopefully will be temporary.
