It has been reported that standardbred racehorse owner Frank Mika, a resident of Pompton Plains, New Jersey, passed away Monday, April 19 at the age of 101
.
According to a report on northjersey.com, services were held Monday, April 26 in Saddle Brook, NJ.
Mika was a plumber and also a veteran of World War II.
The Meadowlands Racetrack honoured Mika's 100th birthday in 2008 with a special night at the races.
The report states that Mika is survived by his son, Douglas; and his friend, Robert Delle Cava, of Long Valley. Mika was predeceased by his wife, Jane; and his daughter, Patricia Ann.
