Yonkers Raceway has announced an across-the-board purse increase, taking effect Monday, May 3
.
The increase, which amounts to about 15 per cent for all classes, brings the purse structure from $7,000 (up from $6,000) to $37,000 (up from $32,000) for the weekly Open Handicap events.
"We're very pleased to be able to offer a purse increase," general manager Bob Galterio said. "We realize there are many choices where to race this time of year, and we want to continue to keep Yonkers Raceway the strongest product possible for our horsemen and fans."
Please note Yonkers is continuing its five-night-per-week live harness schedule. First post for all programs (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday) remains at 7:10 p.m.
