Trot Insider has learned that longtime horseman Bloice A. Ramsay of Kensington, PEI passed away suddenly at home on Sunday, April 24 at the age of 68.
Ramsay was a longtime breeder/owner that also conditioned a drove stock. He was a well known member of the racing community in the Maritimes, and hit the road to follow the circuit when the action shifted from location to location.
Bloice was born in Summerside June 22, 1947 and was the son of Alton and Rowena (Millar) Ramsay. Husband of 49 years to Jean (Rodd) Ramsay. Father of Todd (Rose) Ramsay. Grandfather of Caitlyn and Lindsay Ramsay, Brother-in-law of Debbie Ramsay Summerside, Betsy Rodd, New Hampshire, USA, Pauline (Herbie) Oakes, Northam, Doris (Allison) Dennis, Arlington, Wanda (Clinton) MacLean, Summerside, Elmer (Sylvia) Rodd, Summerside, Major (Diena) Rodd, Winnipeg , MB, Keith Rodd Northam, Eleanor (Wayne) Paynter, Kensington, Bernice (Ernie) Birch, Summerside and Ruth (David) Hunter, Kensington.Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brother Blair Ramsay and brother-in-law Perley Rodd.
Resting at the Davison Funeral Home Kensington for visitation on Wednesday evening from 6-9 p.m. Funeral Thursday in the Davison Funeral Home Chapel at 11 a.m. Interment in People’s Cemetery Kensington.
