Eric McLeod Passes

Trot Insider has learned that longtime standardbred horse owner and breeder Eric McLeod passed away Monday, April 22. He was 58.

A report by the Stratford Beacon Herald explains that McLeod, who was very active and admired in the Stratford community, passed away while he was on the job with the Dairy Farmers of Ontario.

In addition to his participation in harness racing and minor hockey, McLeod served as president, secretary, convener, and coach over many years with the Stratford Minor Baseball Association.

McLeod is survived by his wife, Linda, a daughter, Carly, and son, Bret.

Visitation will take place at W.G. Young Funeral home on Thursday, April 25 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

A funeral service for McLeod will be held on Friday, April 26 at 11:00 a.m. at Central United Church.
