Harness racing legend and U.S. Hall of Famer Dave Palone delivered another masterclass at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows on Wednesday, April 23, notching an incredible nine victories across the 13-race card.
Palone guided the following horses to the winner’s circle: Allambie A ($22.40), Daylights Daughter ($9.20), L Dees Maria ($5.30), Chickaboo ($12.60), Fighting Evil ($7.80), Priceless Shadow ($3.20), Palm Sunday ($20.80), Strange Summer ($3), and capped off the day with No Words Needed ($5.80).
While the nine-win haul is extraordinary by any measure, Palone is still chasing his personal single-day best of 11 wins, a record he set back on April 21, 2008. He has tallied 10 victories on at least two other occasions.
Following Wednesday’s victories, Palone now sits at 21,154 career wins and over $164 million in earnings. He reached the 21,000-win milestone on Nov. 7, 2024. He previously broke the North American wins record on July 5, 2012, when he surpassed the legendary Hervé Filion with his 15,181st victory. Today, he remains the all-time North American dash win leader.
