Saturday night's co-featured eighth race at The Meadowlands, a conditioned pace for a purse of $18,000, offers horseplayers a field so evenly matched that seven of the eight horses in the field are between 4-1 and 6-1 on the computer-generated morning line.
More Dragon (Dave Miller) is the slightest of favourites for the Burke stable at 4-1 from the rail with a pair of Delaware shippers, Tip It On Back (Bret Brittingham) and Special T Rocks (Andy Miller) both second choices at 9-2.
The field contains a few "Down Under" defectors via Yonkers Raceway in Polak A (Jim Marohn, Jr) and Macintosh N (Shaun Vallee), the always tough Alberto Contador N (Corey Callahan) and the all-time Yonkers track record holder at 1:50, The Real One.
Completing the eight-pack is B Fast Eddie (Billy Mann) for owner/trainer Eric Foster who is enjoying a breakout season at The Big M.
Also on the bill is the $17,500 Dash For The G-Notes final in race seven, another pari-mutuel puzzler.
It's a challenging card with the standard horizontal wager guarantees in place led by the $50,000 promise on the Late Pick 4.
The Meadowlands joins the fight against breast cancer by hosting the Pacing for the Cure on Saturday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. Everyone is invited to join the walk to generate funds.
And be reminded that next Saturday (April 29) The Meadowlands hosts the World Harness Handicapping Challenge, the biggest contest for harness players with a guaranteed prize pool of $50,000. There is still time to enter and chase the top prize of $20,000.
First race post time on Saturday is 7:15 p.m.
