Lahar, 25, who spent his last years as a top pacing stallion in Hollis, Maine, passed away on April 9 due to complications of old age.

Lahar was a stallion at Don and Linda Marean’s Lindon Farm, where he sired 101 starters, including three with times of 1:55 or better and a collective $1.6 million in earnings. Three of his progeny earned more than $100,000, including Boogeyman p,1:51 ($230,327).

On the racetrack, Lahar won 34 races and $448,561. He was bred by Tim Rooney and was a son of Abercrombie and Rooney’s hall of fame broodmare, Lismore. His record of 1:50.3 was taken as a six-year-old.

“The long winter was tough on him,” said Don Marean. “He had a great life with us and never had a worry or care and enjoyed his retirement at Lindon Farm.”

Please join Standardbred Canada in offering condolences to the connections of Lahar.
