Hanover Open To Outside Training

Hanover Raceway officials have announced that, with the quick spring melt, the track is now open to outside training.

The track’s general manager, Gord Dougan, has said that although there is still a bit of frost coming up in the backstretch, the track is in very good shape overall.

Dougan has said that outside horses can train out of the ship-in barn at their leisure, but he is advising trainers that the track will be closed for grading in early May. A date hasn’t been set yet, but Dougan expects the grading will be done before May 14.

Hanover Raceway will kick off its 2015 live season on Saturday, June 6. Opening night will include a Hanover Raceway ball cap giveaway with the first 250 programs sold on-track on opening day.

First-race post time will be 7:15 p.m. and qualifying day is set for May 30 at 11 a.m.
