Clinton Raceway has joined forces with the Ontario Harness Horse Association to offer youths aged 10-13 the chance to experience the standardbred up close and personal
.
Three weeks of OHHA’s outstanding youth camps will be offered at Clinton Raceway during the month of June.
These free camps inform youth about safety around horses, basic grooming skills, how to clean a stall, parts of a horse, feeding and nutrition, history of the horse, harnessing a standardbred, jogging a standardbred and much more.
Because the camps occur during the school year, there will be two after-school sessions, and full day Saturday with the race taking place during Clinton’s live card on Sunday afternoon.
Dates of the camps are as follows:
• June 10-13 (Application deadline May 10)
• June 17-20 (Application deadline May 17)
• July 1-4 (Application deadline June 1)
