Longtime harness racing industry participant Ronnie Seymour Jr. of Glace Bay, N.S. passed away on March 23, 2023 at the age of 59.
He is survived by his wife Betty and many family members and friends.
Ronnie was involved with Standardbred horses for over 50 years with his family including his father Ronnie Sr. and brother Gary. His brother Paul is involved with Thoroughbred horses. Ronnie always used to say a horse to him was like a dog to most people. Most people had a dog growing up, but he always had a horse.
In the 1990s, Ronnie worked with Hall of Famer Jack Darling in Ontario with one of the best horses in the world at the time: Northern Luck. One of Ronnie’s best horses was Putnams Power. He also owned and enjoyed success with Artistic Putnam and Whitesand Artist. Most recently, the horse he was most proud of was Mando Fun, who he owned along with his partner Aubrey Cameron.
