Officials from Hanover Raceway indicate plans are in the works to try and organize a qualifier session next Sunday, April 28 at 11:00 a.m.
“Progress has been made with the OnTrack camera people in addition to the telephone, track maintenance and SportechTote people,” said Hanover’ general manager, Gord Dougan. “I expect to have Hanover’s equipment up and running by next Wednesday or Thursday.
“Since our race days were approved a week ago, we have been working hard at trying to get the track prepared, employees hired and our services, equipment and barns ready for racing,” he added. “Two days ago, I didn’t think qualifiers were possible before May 4, but things are starting to come together and we will be meeting with the ORC next week to give them a progress report.”
Dougan will make an announcement April 24 or 25 about whether or not qualifiers will be held before May 1 so local horsepeople will have time to enter. Opening Day at Hanover is scheduled for Saturday, May 4 at 7:15 p.m.
