Harness Horsemen International, comprised of 16 associations representing nearly 10,000 members, will meet via conference call on April 19
.
Led by President Gene Oldford, the group will hear updates from state associations and other organizations committed to the great sport of harness racing worldwide.
The board will be reviewing the recently concluded USTA meeting in Columbus, Ohio and discussing new ways to communicate with members. Such will include the possible development of an all new presence on the internet and more aggressive e-communications to the media and to members alike.
HHI was first organized nearly 50 years ago as an association of men and women dedicated to the improvement of all facets of the harness racing industry.
Harness Horsemen International Elects Officers
HHI recently concluded its election of officers and directors.
Elected President was longtime Michigan horseman Gene Oldford. He was re-elected for a new three-year term.
For First Vice-President, the nod went to Tom Luchento, from New Jersey. Elected Second Vice-President, was Chandler Woodcock from Maine. HHI Secretary is Sal DiMario from the State of Deleware. For the position of Treasurer, Mike Izzo (Pennsylvania) was elected. All Officers serve terms of three years.
Other board members include At-Large Directors and the newly-elected are Jerry Knappenberger (Ohio), Ron Battoni (Pennsylvania), Tony Somone (Illinois) and Don Amos (Ontario).
