Standardbred owner and trainer Lorne W. Goetz of Mildmay, Ont. passed away at Walkerton Hospital on Friday, April 12 in his 82nd year.
Beloved husband of the late Joan (Diemert) Goetz. Dear father of Frank and Karen Goetz of Calgary, Mike Goetz of Lucknow, Jack Goetz of Oshawa, Tom and Elizabeth Goetz of Waubaushene, Dan Goetz of Toronto, Joanne Goetz of Grand Cayman and Paul Goetz of Mildmay. Loving grandfather of Adam, Andrew, Stephen, Stephanie, Brian, Robin, Michelle, Jordon, Jennifer, Jodie, Jill, Joseph, Jacob, Mathew and Ben. Great-grandpa of Liam, Justin, Gavin, Hayden, Racheal, Josie, Marley, Neilly, Ashtyn. Fondly remembered brother of Jim, Bruce, Raymond, Robert and Allan and his sisters Kay and Helen.
Predeceased by his parents John A. (J.A.) Goetz and Arsenia (Babe) Kraemer, his brother Lloyd and his sister Eileen.
Lorne Goetz is privately resting at the Greg Roberts Funeral Home, Mildmay. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, April 16 from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, Mildmay. Funeral Mass will be conducted by Fr. Mark Morley in Sacred Heart Church, Mildmay on Tuesday at 11 a.m.
