‘Equine Affair’ Set To Get Underway

Details have been released in regard to the Equine Affair, which will take place this week (Thursday, April 12 to Sunday, April 15) at the Ohio Expo Center in Columbus, Ohio.

The Ohio Harness Horsemen’s Association and the New Vocations Racehorse Adoption Program have once again worked together to showcase the Standardbred.

The USTA/OHHA booth in the Voinovich Breed Pavilion will include a petting stall where people can get up close to some of our fantastic ex-racehorses. The New Vocations booth will also be in Voinovich, on the backside of the USTA/OHHA booth.

Multiple horses will be used for demonstrations held throughout the weekend:

Thursday (April 12) – 4:30 p.m.
Breed Demonstration (Coliseum)

Friday (April 13) – 10:45 a.m.
In-Hand Demonstration (Celeste Center)

Friday (April 13) – 5:00 p.m.
Breed Demonstration (Rod’s Covered Arena)

Saturday (April 14) – 2:45 p.m.
In-Hand Demonstration (Celeste Center)

Saturday (April 14) – 4:00 p.m.
Breed Demonstration (Rod’s Covered Arena)

Sunday (April 15) – 12:30 p.m.
Breed Demonstration (Coliseum)

Equine Affaire hours are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday - Saturday; show hours on Sunday are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Single day admission tickets are $15 for adults. For more information, visit equineaffaire.com.

Since 1996, the Standardbred Equine Program (SEP) has worked with owners of off-the-track Standardbreds to educate the general public about the many disciplines Standardbreds excel at once they are retired from racing.
