Alberta Downs will kick off its 80-day racing season on Saturday, March 12, with an eight-race card
scheduled to get underway at 1:30 p.m.
The Keith Clark-trained entry of Sealedwithapromise and Lady And Thetrench is listed as the 5-2 morning line favourite in the featured $7,500 Fillies & Mares Open Pace, which is carded as Race 7.
Sealedwithapromise, who will be paired up with driver Brent Grundy, will depart from Post 3 in her quest for a fourth consecutive victory. The five-year-old daughter of As Promised reeled off three straight wins at Northlands Park in the month of February for Clark and partners Lawrence Swalm, Verne Rea and MacPherson Standardbreds of Alberta.
Alberta Downs will offer live racing on Saturday and Sunday afternoons at 1:30 p.m. beginning this weekend. Action will continue at Alberta Downs until September 25. Northlands Park will then offer 38 days of racing from September 30 to December 18.
