Georgian Cancels Saturday Qualifiers

Georgian Downs has cancelled its Saturday morning qualifying session in order to maintain the best

possible track condition for its Saturday evening card.

Temperatures in central Ontario have swelled today, with highs reaching into double-digit territory for the first time in 2009.

“We’ve decided to cancel tomorrow morning’s qualifiers as a precaution,” said track superintendent John Burt. “There will be a lot of frost coming out today and with rain forecasted over the next 24 hours, it’s best if we stay off the surface. I’m confidant that this will give us the best racetrack possible for tomorrow night’s card.”

Post time for the Grand re-opening Saturday evening card is set for 7:25 p.m. Free programs and a host of promotional giveaways will meet patrons returning to the Innisfil, Ont. oval.
