Dr. Charles E. Whitmer Jr., 73, passed away on Tuesday, March 1 at Crouse Hospital with his loving family by his side.
Dr. Whitmer was born March 13, 1942, the son of the late Charles and Elizabeth Whitmer. He was a graduate of Michigan State University and received his Doctorate in Dentistry from Case Western Reserve University.
He was an avid owner and trainer of Standardbreds for more than 50 years.
Dr. Whitmer is survived by his wife, Lynn; son, Dr. Brian (Gina); daughter, Leslie (Robert Capezzano); sister, Judith (Don) Beynon; and nieces and nephews, Lindsay (Mike) Loughren and Chad (Hillary) Beynon.
Per his request there will be no services.
