With the opening of Grand River Raceway’s 2011 live racing season less than one month away, the Elora, Ont. track has issued a training notice
.
The track is tentatively set to open for training on Tuesday, April 5 from 8:00 a.m. to noon. This opening is weather dependent and trainers are advised to check the track’s notice board on Monday, April 4 for confirmation about April 5 and future training dates.
Once the 2011 season opens on April 25, the track is open for training every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to noon.
Weather permitting, qualifiers will be staged every Monday from April 18 through October 24 at 4:00 p.m. Please note, there are no qualifiers scheduled for August 1 and August 15. The box closes at 10:00 a.m. on Fridays prior to qualifiers. To enter, please contact the race office at 519-846-1106 or 519-846-1107. The first 36 entries are accepted.
The following draw schedule will apply for 2011:
• Mondays for Friday racing: Box closes at 11:00 a.m.
• Thursdays for Monday racing: Box closes at 11:00 a.m.
• Fridays for Wednesday racing: Box closes at 11:00 a.m.
