The Red Mile announced today that the racing dates for the first week of the Grand Circuit meet have been moved up one day to begin on Thursday, Sept. 28, which includes the Bluegrass Stakes for two-year-old trotting colts and two-year-old pacing fillies.
Racing will continue on Friday, Sept. 29 with additional Bluegrass Stakes events for two-year-old pacing colts and two-year-old trotting fillies. The third and final day of racing for the first week will be held on Saturday, Sept. 30 with three-year-olds of both gaits and genders competing in their respective Bluegrass events. These dates supersede the originally planned Friday-Saturday-Sunday initial week timetable.
The schedule for the second week of live harness racing at the Red Mile remains unchanged and is set to begin as originally planned on Friday, Oct. 6 with the International Stallion Stakes for freshmen. Racing continues on Saturday, Oct. 7, and culminates on Sunday, Oct. 8 for Kentucky Futurity Day.
Post time is 1 p.m. (EDT) for all six of the world-class harness racing dates at the famed Lexington oval.
