Services were recently held for longtime harness racing industry participant M. Helen Lee of Cambridge, Ont., who passed away on February 1, 2022 at the age of 89.
Along with her husband Cliff, Helen bred and raised a number of notable Standardbreds that carried the Lee Farm suffix. Among those performers were stakes winner Cassiopeia Lee and her best offspring, Ontario Sires Stakes graduate Gypper Lee.
Cliff and Helen also owned operated a turnout farm outside Cambridge after scaling back their breeding operation. The farm was the vacation home for the likes of stakes stars Jays Table, Jays Dexter, Miatross, Brylin Image and his Hall of Fame sibling Glorys Comet.
Predeceased by her beloved husband Cliff (2005). Cherished mother of Heather Lee-Murphy (Edward), David S. Lee and step-son Barry Lee. Proud grandmother of Bryan Murphy. Helen was predeceased by her parents Edna and Martin Cochran. At Helen's request, cremation has taken place, and a Private Memorial Service was held at Corbett Funeral Home.
