Officials with the Alberta Standardbred Horse Association announced on Saturday (March 2) that the opening card of harness racing for the 2019 season at Century Downs has been postponed.
"With the extreme weather we’ve been having, as many in Canada have, we have found it difficult to prepare horses to race opening weekend," noted ASHA's Colleen Haining. "So, the difficult decision has been made to cancel our opening day of racing at Century Downs on March 10."
Haining noted that the track plans to conduct qualifiers that day, at a time to be determined and announced.
