In a statement issued on Tuesday (March 17) the Quebec Jockey Club Board of Directors has made the decision to delay the start of the 2020 harness racing season at Hippodrome 3R.
The statement from the QJC is as follows:
In response to COVID-19, we are making every effort to ensure that the health of all our employees and that of our customers is maintained.
During this period of uncertainty, it seems imperative to close our doors to the public in order to comply with government directives and thus ensure the well- being of everyone.
This is why we are announcing today that the Trois-Rivières racetrack has postponed the opening of the 2020 season to a later date. Horse training on the track at Trois-Rivières and qualifying will be postponed later in the season as well.
Communication is essential; please be advised that we will keep you informed on various electronic platforms including our website hippodrome3r.ca and via our Facebook page.
Thank you for your understanding,
Quebec Jockey Club Board of Directors
